Q: What was your strongest spiritual moment?
A: I lost my father when I was 23 years old. My world fell completely apart and I hit rock bottom. My spirituality was not only my salvation but the strongest catalyst to my awakening. When someone has been through a great deal of suffering, it changes them. In my case, it led me to have a much deeper connection to Spirit. I needed to understand what happens to a soul after we die and if I could still be connected to him somehow, to make sense of it all. It’s also what helped me to ultimately make peace with it. I realized I wasn’t separated from him, and I was also not alone. I had help. It also put everything into perspective.
Q: What’s most important?
A: The people you love.
Q: How did you discover Reiki?
A: During my college years. It allowed be to have an awareness of my own energy and an intentional relationship with it.
Q: What does Reiki mean to you:
A: It’s an affirmation of the great mystery that is life. It’s something as faith that cannot be seen and only felt. Something you know in your heart to be true. For me, it gives me a feeling of affirmation that there is really so much more than what we can perceive.
Q: What are the benefits? Drawbacks?
A: More balance! A heightened sense of energy and well-being. A feeling of being unblocked, a release of tension, clarity, and helps a person connect internally. There are no drawbacks, it can cause no harm. The energy is channeled through the person but the Reiki energy itself is pure and intelligent. It unlocks the recipients own healing energy from within. Of course, it is important to chose a practitioner you feel safe and comfortable with. Even better if you connect with them and enjoy their energy. These things help you to be more receptive. It’s really a sort of beautiful meditation between giver and receiver.
Q: What is your experience with healing?
A: I want people to know that they can ask for help. That they are not alone. There is a greater unseen that is accessible to all of us. However you identify with it, G-d, Source, Spirit, The Universe, Angels, Spirit Guides, your higher Self. Most people are so closed off, I want people to know they are not alone and they can ask. You can ask for signs and you can ask for guidance.
